CardioPulmanary Department

We have a very well rounded and competent staff. Our usual hours are 6:00am – 6:30pm seven days a week. After hours there is a therapist on-call for emergent situations. When the census is low, we may leave early but there is always someone on-call whom can return to the hospital if needed. A call schedule is kept at the nurses’ station and in the emergency department.

Services Provided

· Patient education

· Smoking cessation

· Updraft therapy with evaluation of each person on updraft therapy

· Incentive spirometer instruction

· Oxygen therapy and weaning of supplemental oxygen (pulse oximetry is obtained three times daily and as needed)

· Stress pulse oximetry,

· Overnight pulse oximetry either as in-patient or outpatient.

· BiPap management including weaning

· Basic and pre/post bronchodilator Pulmonary Function Tests.

Outpatient scheduling is provided through our centralized scheduling department. · A copy of the patient’s insurance information is needed for precertification. · Please include the necessary clinical indicators to justify the testing (including: onset of symptoms and interventions/testing you have already tried). · Providing a clinical indicator will help keep the patient’s portion of the medical bill to a minimum.
